Electricity from the solar panels are fed directly into the power lines and thus will reduce the power meter consumption, which means a lower utility bill. This represents a saving on you the consumer part and a better and equitable power distribution for the utility company, which also means lesser dependence on fossil fuels, meaning less pollution too.
